Making Maps that Matter

UCSB's Center for Spatial Science is an established leader in map-based data science. Today, with GPS enabled phones and satellites, most data are mappable, creating a boon for science and decision-making. Dr. Trisalyn Nelson will overview research and teaching efforts at the Center for Spatial Science, highlighting projects that support Santa Barbara's efforts to plan for sustainable transportation and a project to build one of the first digital twins of nature for the Dangermond Preserve at Point Conception.
