Human consciousness have always been tantalizing notions of long life, even immortality, and have always been part of , recurring in literature, religion, music, cinema and even consumer goods.

Even if you go to the Old Testament the opening chapters it describes lifespans measured in centuries, with Adam making it to 930 years old, Noah to 950 years old and Methuselah to 969.
Many people find something compelling in the impossibilities of living forever and staying forever young with the use of anti-ageing creams and life-extending diet fads

However, it appears that life expectancy growth has hit a wall, since 2011. "We are no longer living longer," according to dozens of researchers such as University of Washington, the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) and the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care.
When it comes to the food we eat, physical inactivity and obesity are largely to blame, after studying health data for European countries taken from the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation Global Burden of Disease 2021.

In all countries except for Norway the rate of improvement was lower in 2011 than in 1990 the team said in findings published by The Lancet Public Health, a medical journal.
Nick Steel of the UEA mentioned advances in public health and medicine in the 20th Century meant that life expectancy in Europe improved year after year. But this is no longer the case,. The decades between 1990 and 2011 saw "substantial improvements in life expectancy" due to improvements in how cardiovascular disease and cancers were treated, he went on mentioning.

Since that 2011 there has been an increase in "major risks" such as obesity, high cholesterol and high blood pressure a lot of it is due to obesity and poor diets.

The University of Edinburgh and research by the Max Planck Institute suggesting compared to our ancestors that millennia of genetic mutations are making humans less fit over the broad sweep of time. Our comfortable lifestyles and advances in medical care appear to be having the counter-intuitive effect of making us more vulnerable to such mutations than in the past.

What About The United States Life Expectancy🤔

Why is US life expectancy declining?
Between 2019 and 2022, the U.S. experienced a sharper decline and a slower rebound in life expectancy than peer countries, on average, due to increased mortality and premature death rates in the U.S. from the CV-19 pandemic.

supermarkets are piled with vitamins of all kind, fitness centers popping up all over towns and cities, top notch health care but still America life expectancy is still declining. In the publication of Shorter Lives, Poorer Health which I will leave a link for you in the description to check out digs into why it is that the U.S. had a shorter life expectancy than people in other countries. "Shorter Lives" is filled with recommendation and one of them were to figure out what they are doing that works in other places, and do it over here but is overlooked when it comes to The National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Across the lifespan, and across every demographic group, Americans die at younger ages than their counterparts in other wealthy nations.
How could this happen? In a country that prides itself on scientific excellence and innovation, and spends an incredible amount of money on health care, the population keeps dying at younger and younger ages.
