The “influencer” has really taken the internet by storm. To a layman, the term influencer has a negative connotation. Probably brought on by the most controversial figures on the platforms. This image brings to mind an heir of overindulgent 20 year olds being rewarded for essentially, narcissism. But it’s a huge business that’s making a lot of people money, both the influencer and brand. In fact, the influencer lifestyle is so glamorized it’s a job a lot of young people strive for. All one would really need is a crazy idea and a camera. Though it may sound oversimplified, many do it every day for a chance of attaining or even sustaining that glamorous lifestyle. In fact many ideas are so outlandish, they’re fabricated to simulate reality for the purposes of going viral.
