Rocket netting and banding of geese

A quick recap of a typical banding operation at CWA. Performed by program coordinator and waterfowl biologists. CWA always is safe, ethical and efficient when banding and this process is done to learn more about waterfowl. This is just one example of banding but is the coolest.
-This day we were in the Sacramento Valley focusing on Ross's and snow geese, some which were outfitted with solar-powered tracking collars for a U.S.G.S. study. All the birds were sexed, measured, weighed and banded before release.
