RAW Flips Chopping My Own Samples on the MKSREC1 SP4800 Real Beat Making Process

Welcome back to another episode of RAW Flips. This series is all about showing the REAL behind the scenes beat making process with no shortcuts, no polished studio edits, and no fake perfection. Just raw sampling sessions, mistakes, experimentation, and figuring things out in real time.

In this episode I’m working on the MKSREC1, a machine I’ve been calling the “SP4800” because of the character and texture this thing brings to samples. One thing I learned VERY quickly though… you really have to be careful what you feed into it.

The sample in this video is actually something I created myself, but there was way too much high end information going into the machine and the MKSREC1 definitely let me know about it. You’ll hear exactly what I mean pretty quickly once the session starts moving.

That’s the entire point of RAW Flips. Showing the real process. Not every beat starts perfect. Not every sample reacts the way you expect. Sometimes the machine pushes back and you have to adapt.

No direct audio
No multi camera setup
No over edited production
