Justin tells us about the start of the Ball 14 years ago in San Francisco, about the focus on Edward Gorey and about the future of the Ball.

Stepping into the Edwardian Ball is stepping into a world of color, whimsy, decadence, and beauty-- a world of barons and earls, elegant ladies, clowns, mimes, can-can dancers, courtesans, and British admirals.

Founded 14 years ago by Justin Katz and the music ensemble Rosin Coven, the Edwardian Ball is held annually in San Francisco and Los Angeles. With New York a possible host city, Justin may even branch out to Europe and Asia. The Ball is often described as an evocation of the world of writer and illustrator Edward Gorey and his eccentric combination of humor and horror.
