How to Use SHAPES to Create Character Designs ◼️🔵🔺 Shape Language Tutorial

Hi guys! Today we're talking all about shape language! Shapes are SUCH a powerful tool you can use help visually portray who your character is and some of their personality traits. Kinda like visual symbolism? The idea is to have people be able to get a decent idea of who the character is and what their personality is like just by looking at their design 🙃

You can use shape language as little or as much as you want in your character designs. It's just another visual tool you can use however you want. There are no rules and it's totally up to you how you want to use shapes to visually portray your characters!

Today I created 3 different character designs with the 3 basic shapes - squares, circles, and triangles. I'd love to hear what you guys think about these three characters! What kind of impression do they give you based off their design?
