To Our LIRR Family from LIRR President Phil Eng

Long Island Rail Road employees, more than 7,000 of them, continue to rise to the challenge as our region battles the COVID-19 pandemic.

LIRR President Phillip Eng wrote the words in this video in a recent letter to the LIRR workforce, thanking them for their heroic efforts as we continue to run our Essential Service plan to transport the doctors, nurses, emergency responders, and the pharmacy and grocery store workers we all rely on so heavily right now.

While some of the images in this video were taken in better times before all these new guidelines were put in place to keep us safe, we're doing everything we can to protect our customers and our employees.

We're doing our part by continuing ramped up disinfecting efforts across all 124 stations as well as every car in our train fleet, while our employees are practicing social distancing, where possible, as they go about their work tokeep the system running.

Finally, we encourage anyone who is not an essential employee to stay at home and help NY flatten the curve. We look forward to serving you all again in the future.
