First Blue Sunset Seen Mars

This rare footage reveals an unusual blue sunset on Mars, a phenomenon very different from sunsets on Earth. The video was captured by the rover Curiosity Rover during its mission exploring the Martian surface. On Earth, sunsets appear red or orange because our atmosphere scatters shorter blue wavelengths of sunlight. However, Mars has a much thinner atmosphere filled with fine dust particles that scatter red light away while allowing blue light to remain visible near the Sun during sunset. This surprising effect creates a cool blue glow around the setting Sun on Mars. The discovery, documented by NASA, helps scientists better understand the Martian atmosphere and weather patterns while providing stunning views of alien sunsets on another world.
