Chesslantis - Post-Game Review: The Analysis Board (V. 0.0.4)

The game from Video 1 - now on the analysis board. Engine evaluations, move quality, variations, the eval chart, and everything the Chesslantis analysis mode has to offer.

The analysis board offers many possibilities. The engine was developed in-house. Chesslantis distinguishes between three analysis methods: Real-Time Analysis (RTA), Quick Analysis, and Deep Analysis. With RTA, you can analyze individual positions and variations in real time. You can also use it to experiment with different positions on the analysis board. Or you can import and analyze a PGN file.

In this video, we’re using the analysis board after a game against the AI. The quick analysis goes up to a depth of 18 half-moves. Several million positions from the opening have been pre-calculated, which is why it’s so fast. Critical positions are re-examined in the post-analysis. The accuracy of the values is very close to the quality of Lichess server analyses, but in Chesslantis, everything happens locally. Threads and hash values can be configured in the options.

The depth of analysis can also be adjusted and goes up to a depth of 40 half-moves.

After the analysis, variations can be played and further analyzed via RTA.

ABOUT CHESSLANTIS

Chesslantis is an offline, singleplayer chess game in early development - and it's growing into a chess club manager. Think football manager or FIFA's career mode, but for chess: you'll run your own club, and - the big difference - actually sit down and play or train at the board yourself.

Right now the foundation is being built. Single games against a roster of unique AI characters, a training mode, a personal game database, and detailed statistics are already in. Next up are tournaments against AI opponents in a variety of formats, before the full career mode follows.

The goal is to simulate a complete chess world - one where games against the AI feel as close to playing a human as possible. No online, no accounts, no subscriptions.
