Positano after the storm - Floods, mudslides and rough sea

At the same time that Hurricane Irma hit Florida bad weather also hit the Amalfi Coast. Torrential rain caused torrents of water and mud to pour down from the mountainside into the road and the river that normally trickles into the sea on the main beach burst its banks and flooded the area in front of Chez Black.

I missed most of the action as I was at work in Ravello so I have used some footage from other people:
www.PositanoNews.it was on the road in Montepertuso watching the mud pour down where the water fountain is and @Darlibelre (Instagram) was on the beach at Laurito and witnessed a huge black river tumbling towards the sea.

Meanwhile I was safely tucked away in a Villa in Ravello with no idea of what was happening. Later as I drove home (by car of course, not a day to use a scooter!) waves were hitting the roads in Amalfi. As I was with the car I couldn't pull over anywhere to watch and by the time I got back to Positano it was dark.
So the next day all I could do was go down to see the aftermath of the storm!
And I'm happy to say that by Wednesday the sun was shining again, the sea was calm and everything wes back to normal!
