Supermoon Rising Step by Step Acrylic Painting on Canvas for Beginners

I'm on a landscape kick lately, if you hadn't noticed. Let's paint a pretty simple supermoon rising over a mountain, and use a couple different techniques to make evergreen trees. This painting is loosely based on a photo by Eileen, who was awesome enough to allow me to share it with you!

We'll start off by wetting down the back of our canvas to improve working time, and then loosely sketch in the moon and mountains. Then we'll talk about what colors indicate light and what colors indicate shadows as we fill in the mountain and sky. I'll show you a simple yet effective way to paint a bright moon, and we'll finish up with my favorite part, the trees. This is a good lesson for beginners on up!
