2020 Arnold Strongman Classic - Trial By Stone | Recap

Extended highlights from the first event of the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic, the “Trial By Stone,” as re-broadcast on the CBS Sports Network. In this challenge, the competitors are required to lift 5 stones as fast as possible, ranging from 275 LBS to 409 LBS (the Husafell Stone). There is a 60-second time limit per stone, and the athlete to lift all five the fastest is the winner. Right out of the gate, this event prepared us for the weekend-long showdown between defending Arnold champion Hafthor Bjornsson and the rising star from Poland, Mateusz Kieliszkowski.

The 2020 Arnold Classic took place the weekend of March 6-7 in Columbus, Ohio, and brought together 10 of the most accomplished Strongman athletes from around the world to compete in six events. Due to early Covid-19 safety protocols, the competition was held without live spectators.
