Memphis Citizen Police Oversight First Meeting of 2019
Trent Collier had just gotten off work when his sister called him to help boost her friend's car. So much for doing a good deed as police turned off their body-worn cameras then choked and punched Collier, setting him on a string of court appearances and legal fees which ended in dismissal of bogus charges when the officer failed twice to show up for court. Collier says he ultimately lost his job due to the arrest -- even though he had committed no crime, except trying to help a lady with her car. Civilian Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) agreed with Collier that police had done him wrong. #WatchTheWatchers
