In this ongoing series of Fingerpicking For Beginners, this lesson #9 covers how to change from the Em to G chord while using the picking patterns we learned in lessons 3 and 4 (which is identical... string order is 6,4, 3, 6, 2,4,3). Even though we are not picking the 5th string, both chords Em and G are pressing 2 frets up with our middle finger. The G chord's bass or root note which is a G note 3 frets up on the 6th string is important to get to 'on time".
