Jana Nayagan | Censor Board Appeals Against High Court Order Over Jana Nayagan's UA Certificate

The Madras High Court has upheld the producers’ argument that all cuts suggested by the first examining committee of the Central Board of Film Certification were duly implemented, leaving no grounds for a fresh review ordered by the chairperson.

However, in a fresh development, the CBFC has moved a writ appeal against the single judge’s order directing certification for actor Vijay’s film. The board’s counsel has mentioned the matter before the Chief Justice, seeking an urgent hearing before a division bench.

With the CBFC pressing ahead despite losing the first round, the case has turned into a full-fledged legal tug of war. The court’s next hearing will be crucial in determining whether the film can release as scheduled or face further delays.
