WW2 Royal Air Force Ta Kali caves Malta
Me and Angelo will be exploring a group of WW2 RAF caves at Ta Qali Malta. These caves looks to be man made and are situated very close to Ta Qali WW2 airfield. Most probably these cave were used for storage of bombs and flammable materials such as fuel or paint. These complex of caves is made out of 13 storage units of which we explored 7. These storage units are about 4m high and 5m wide and 30m in length. All these units have an open front or masonry wall and a tunnel at the back that connects them all.
A word of caution, these caves look like they had many rock falls in them, so caution has to be taken into exploring them.
Have to say big thank you to Alessio Zarb for his help and Major Tony Abela for his valuable history information.
Regards and thanks
Pierre
