In Episode 214 of IKEA Home Tour, the Squad travels to Chicago, IL to help Jessica Waszak surprise her hard-working husband, Scott, with a man cave makeover!

As a full time fire fighter, student, and father, Scott needs his own space in the house to work on his assignments and also decompress. His current home office has become cluttered, with poor lighting and a lack of storage. His wife, Jessica, would love to surprise Scott with a relaxing, multipurpose man cave he can call his own!

Thanks to the IKEA Home Tour Squad, Scott’s messy desk and cramped office have been transformed into a super organized and functional space to study and even nap! To keep the clutter out of sight, the Squad installed the customizable IVAR three-section shelving unit with cabinet and chest, made with sustainable solid pine wood and topped off with a dark finish to give the room that man cave feel. Since every man cave needs a cozy chair, the Squad selected the comfortable STRANDMON wing chair, which features great height and a 10-year limited warranty. The Squad kept Scott's sturdy desk, but completely reorganized it with various drawer dividers to make the most out of the storage space. They also installed UTRUSTA pull-out trays with VARIERA recycling bins to keep recycling and trash close by, yet tucked neatly away. To bring the room together and brighten it up, the Squad recommended a great LED lighting system that uses 85% less energy and features LEDARE bulbs that will last about 20 years versus regular incandescent bulbs. Scott can now enjoy an exciting man cave sanctuary fit for a dad, husband, fire fighter, and student — all with sustainable yet affordable solutions!
