My stomach growling reminded me of all the times I gave when I barely had anything myself.

I bought laptops, gas, and food for people I called family — because I believed in them. I gave out of love, not expectation.

But when everything was taken from me, I realized how fast people disappear when they can’t benefit from you anymore.

This experience has taught me one thing — the next time someone hints for help, the answer is going to be no.
