This video is about how to let down the mainspring or unwind a size 16 pocket watch.I am getting ready to clean this watch and need to take the pressure off of the mainspring.If i didn't do that it could do damage to the watch as I started taking it apart.What I show is how to have a controlled release of the main spring.Sometimes you my hear someone say the pocket watch is over wound when really the watch cannot unwind because it is dirty or has a broken part.
