Canoeing the Buffalo River | Two Day Float from Woolum to Gilbert

Angie and I canoed 20 miles down the Buffalo River to celebrate a friend's birthday. We started at the Woolum campground, camped on a gravel bar just past Baker Ford, and ended our float at Gilbert the next day. This was our first experience camping while floating, it was a great time and we hope to do another trip like this soon.

We rented a canoe from the Gilbert General Store where we received great service; they had us park on their parking lot and shuttled us up to Woolum.

I believe the water level was around 4.5 feet at the Highway 65 gauge. As you can see there was a mix of some current and slow moving pools.
