Monday Morning Tropical Update: 2 Tropical Depressions form in the Atlantic
Tropical Depression 18 formed early Monday morning as it moves just off the coast of Africa. It will likely develop into Tropical Storm Rene early this week. Model trends have been out-to-sea with this system as they show it re-curving north about midway across the ocean. Of course we'll track it closely.
Tropical Depression 17 formed late Sunday way out in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa and the Caribbean islands. It is forecast to become Tropical Storm Paulette on Monday or Tuesday as it moves west-northwest. Models have been out-to-sea with this one too. We'll follow it.
