From an Island to the World: How Palau is a Model for us | Connery Wood | TEDxMountainViewHighSchool

This talk presents the research I conducted on Palau's (an island country about 900 kilometers east of the Philippines) road to independence and how its history of land-use impacted its near shore corals with an update of how the US is following the Palauan culture to preserve more of its natural resources, and how the rest of the world should follow the Palauan example.

I am a junior at Mountain View High School, and this past summer, I was an intern in the Stanford Earth Young Investigators Program.
