What's the State of Tamriel Before Elder Scrolls 6?

The lands of Tamriel, home to a variety of races and diverse geographical features, have witnessed great losses and the collapse of empires multiple times. If you ask anyone who has ever lived in these lands at any point in time, they will tell you the same thing: "Surviving in Tamriel is no easy task." Over the centuries, different powers have ruled these harsh lands. In the earliest days, it was the Nirn deities we know as the Aedra and Daedra. Then, during the ancient eras, it was the High Elves, known as the Altmer, who emerged as a reflection of these gods. Later, humans arrived on these shores as slaves, only to eventually spread across the entire continent and establish their own dominion. So, here I’ve given you a brief history of Tamriel’s power struggles—a tale that could take hours to fully recount. But I must also tell you that these struggles are far from over. On the contrary, as a new era dawns, an even greater conflict looms on the horizon. Tamriel is calling us, the Elder Scrolls fans, to the brink of a new age, a time of monumental change—and we’re certain of it!
