Xbox 360 Slim - Power Issue Easy Fix
Hi to all of you guys having issues getting any signs of power to your Xbox 360 Slim consoles (introduced 2010), because 9 times out of 10 you have probably found this videos because you are having the same issues as I am.
Simply put, I recently came to turn on my Xbox 360 Slim console (which I got new right the way back at XMAS 2011), to find out that no matter what I tried, it simply would not power up. I double checked that all leads are connected correctly, pressed the power button, eject button and even tried turning on the console using the wireless controller, still nothing was happening. The console couldn't be any more dead, simply put. So I looked up online what could be causing the issue and found some solutions which may resolve the issue, including trying a different power brick, checking that there are no bent pins in any of the USB ports. None of that helped. I thought that my console was screwed, as the Microsoft repair service would cost almost as much as the console was when new. :-(
I gave up for a short while (I mainly play on the next generation consoles now, however the Xbox 360 still has a huge library of games and is great for split screen multiplayer games), until I came across another solution that I found online relating to the RF Board which is hidden behind the front faceplate being faulty. Turned out to be a very small capacitor on that particular board which overheats and goes faulty, of which the console can work without, which can be de-soldered and removed, however the overheated capacitor had melted the solder, so I managed to remove mine using a flat-head screwdriver with ease. And hey presto!? It works again! The console is now back up and running just as good as it was before and for the best part, didn't even cost a single penny to fix!
Removing the capacitor worked fine for me, I didn't need to replace it like the other video explained, however this may not be the same case for everyone. I would probably recommend replacing the RF Board, or if skilled, that small capacitor.
Also, here are some other useful videos from other YouTube channels (credit to these guys for uploading them):

DISCLAIMER: I cannot accept any responsibility if you are to do any damage to your console attempting this repair yourself. Unless you really know what you are doing, I would advise getting a professional to carry out such work or just replace the whole RF Board (also a working solution).
And of course, I hope you found this video helpful. If you did, please remember to drop a like on this video and also feel free to comment. Also subscribe for more tech and gaming videos from this channel!
