How to skive: a basic leather work technique
Skiving is a technique used to thin leather in places or to taper the thickness of an edge of a piece of leather. In this video I talk about a few of the reasons I skive. How skiving can improve your finished leather work. Some of the tools to do it. And I briefly show how I skive leather on some straps I am making and some scrap pieces.
I am always working on building something and try to average a YouTube video once a week. Most often leather work, but I have also posted videos on black smithing, knife making, casting, and even how I make soap. Be sure to Subscribe if you are interested in any of these topics, or just making things in general.
