This video features the Volkswagen Golf MK8 in the entry-level specification, meaning you'll get to see what features are standard on the cheapest version of this iconic small hatch.

As an owner of a Golf MK7.5, I’m keen to see what improvements Volkswagen has made for the latest incarnation of their top-selling hatchback.

Although it looks quite different to the previous generation, the exterior is still recognisable as a Golf, and the interior has had quite a transformation as well.
The engine is still the same 1.4 turbocharged petrol unit as we’ve seen before, but is now mated to an 8-speed torque converter gearbox replacing the DSG unit that has been around for a long time.
