Veterans Day Special with Jake Wood & Melissa Stockwell | Frank Buckley Interviews

On this episode of Frank Buckley Interviews, we are paying tribute to U.S. military veterans. Frank Buckley is joined by two veterans, who survived Iraq and Afghanistan, and who are now engaged in new missions in their post-military lives.

After his Marine Corps service, Jake Wood found another way to serve. In 2010, he co-founded Team Rubicon after deploying to Haiti as a civilian with other combat veterans, after a devastating earthquake there. The veterans used their military skills to save lives on the ground, and to find purpose in their own lives.

In 2004, Melissa Stockwell was a young 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army deployed to Iraq. Her convoy hit a roadside bomb and Melissa would lose her leg, becoming the first female to lose a limb in active combat. But sports gave her post-war life new focus and purpose, and in 2016, 12 years after almost losing her life on the battlefield, Melissa Stockwell won a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics in the Paralympics triathlon.
