2024 Taipei Azalea Festival highlights｜Taiwan News

Flower lovers, take note. The Taipei Azalea Festival has kicked off at Da’an Forest Park. Beautiful azaleas and hydrangeas are now in full bloom. FTV reporter Stephany Yang takes us in for a look.

The 2024 Taipei Azalea Festival kicked off. Organizers have designed floral landscapes for visitors to take photos with. There’s also a wooden house that hosts DIY classes.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Daan Forest Park. The parks department set up a flower garden in a grassy area. The middle area is mainly composed of different varieties of azaleas. Children can draw pictures and learn about plants.

Besides azaleas, other seasonal flowers are in bloom. They include hydrangea, buddleia, and lavender.

There are also buddleia flowers. There are at least four of five varieties. They are very attractive to butterflies. You can still see them in early April. The hydrangeas are also very beautiful. You can still catch a glimpse of them until about April 10.

Hydrangeas usually bloom in Taipei’s Yangmingshan from mid-May to mid-June. If you want to catch a glimpse of them earlier, you can visit Daan Forest Park. The blooming time for hydrangeas and azaleas at Daan Forest Park is from around late February to April 10.
