Javelin (expected) – The FGM-148 Javelin is a US-made, man-portable anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system developed by Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. It is widely recognized for its fire-and-forget capability, using infrared imaging to lock on and guide itself to its target after launch. Its signature top-attack mode allows it to strike armored vehicles at their most vulnerable point—on the top—making it highly effective against modern tanks.

The Javelin has been extensively used by U.S. and NATO forces in multiple conflict zones and has proven effective against a variety of targets, including main battle tanks, fortifications, and low-flying aircraft such as helicopters.

Though not officially in service with the Royal Thai Armed Forces, some defense reports and speculative sources suggest that Thailand may be considering the Javelin system as part of its efforts to modernize its ground forces. If acquired, the Javelin would significantly enhance Thailand’s infantry-level anti-armor capability and align it more closely with Western defense standards.
