STORYLINE
LADY GAGA GOES GREEN FOR JAPAN
Lady Gaga landed at Narita Airport in Japan on Tuesday (21 JUNE 2011) and was greeted by hundreds of fans.
The pop icon walked out of the gate dressed all in green, with matching hair, which she said was for "Liberation and for the environment."
Over two hundred people were at the gate to get autographs and take photos with their phones.
And Gaga took her time to greet as many of them as possible.
"I'm so excited to be here. I love you all so much," she said as she walked through the airport.
This is Lady Gaga's fourth visit to Tokyo.
On this trip she will make an appearance at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan event on 25th June.
Though the MTV Video Music Awards are held annually in Japan, this year the event pays tribute to the people who have suffered because of the huge earthquake and tsunami that hit the country on March 11th.
People in Japan are grateful for the Gaga's fast action in helping Japan recover from the disaster.
In March, along with other artists, the pop star helped raise money to support earthquake relief in Japan and donated $1.5 million (US) dollars of her own money.
"Songs for Japan" was produced immediately after the tsunami to raise money for disaster-stricken Japan and featured the singer's Number 1 hit "Born This Way."
The album was available on iTunes and proceeds from the 38-track went to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
After her appearance at the MTV Video Awards on Saturday, and participating in promotional events during the week, Lady Gaga will move on to Taiwan on July 1st.
