While sentiment on social right is that Twitch changed something and is no longer counting lurkers as viewers - in reality, nothing has changed other than general viewership trends are down. But what we're seeing is proof that Streamers Hate Lurkers. Lurkers don't chat. They don't make it easier for the streamer. And if they don't count towards Average Viewers, what even is the point? STOP LURKING!

Yes, this is clickbait - but it aims to change your perspective... Viewer count doesn't matter in short time frames. In the long term, it's a great way to reflect on where you've been and are now. But don't babysit that number, don't worry about the day-to-day or week-to-week... Spend your time making better content and finding ways to engage your audience more directly, so lurkers become chatters because the content is just that good!
