State of Michigan not legally responsible in 2020 Midland County dam failure, judge says

MIDLAND COUNTY, Mich. - The State of Michigan has been found to not be legally responsible for the failure of the Edenville Dam, according to a Judge’s opinion from the Michigan Court of Claims.

Judge James Redford issued this opinion on Thursday, in which the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy and the state’s Department of Natural Resources are not responsible for damages in the case:
