Life with an Abusive Mother.... My Story

This was really hard for me to talk about, when I did my first take I ended up crying and had to stop to get myself to calm down. I just wanted to put this out there for anyone going through a similar situation and they feel like they’re alone, because I know I did.

So I do want to make one thing clear, I have a kick ass step mom who I love with all my heart and that I actually call mom. I haven’t spoken, nor do I ever want to speak to my biological mother again.

We as human beings need to be selfish enough when it comes to our mental health and well-being to cut out toxic people from our life; no matter the relationship. Ever since I’ve cut my biological mother out of my life I can 100% say that I’m in a way better place than I was before. I’ve managed to build a relationship with my in-laws without being fake about it.

This whole experience has helped me learn what NOT to do as a mother and my step mom has helped me see what kind of mom I want to be. She will be who my kids call grandma, not my biological mother.
