Is there a point in blogging about low search volume keywords? I mean, think about it. Sometimes you have keywords that may get, according to keyword research tools, 50 or less searches every single month. That’s extremely low and for most of you, it probably doesn’t seem like it’s worth it. But I want to take some time today to explain why that’s a flawed way of thinking and why sometimes, these keywords are perfect to write about.

• Here’s why keyword tools aren’t 100% accurate
- Data sources
- Estimates (even Google is an estimate)
- Varying volumes and difficulties depending on the tool
• Low search volume could be very profitable depending on the intent
- Reviews rarely have high search volumes, could be huge affiliate commissions
- Vs search volumes are similar
• Time in the Lifecycle of vlog and domain authority is crucial
- Age matters. Low volume and low competition is great early on
- Later for your site, may make more sense to focus on high volume, higher competition.
• Should you go after low search volume keywords?
- Think about intent
- Think about age of site
- Think about domain authority
- Think about how many other topics you’ve covered
- Generally speaking, yes. I recommend it, but at the right times.
