Antique Book Restoration
Antique books are enduring and functional works of art, and the work that went into producing these books is remarkable by today’s standards. Modern mass-produced books are for the most part manufactured as cheaply as possible. This segment from the 1981 RTE documentary Hands: A Dublin Bookbinder focuses on how centuries-old books are restored and, in so doing, how they were originally made. I hope you find this process and topic as fascinating as I do.
