message. It was the beginning of Cicada 3301 — the most sophisticated
unsolved puzzle the internet has ever produced.

The puzzles crossed from digital to physical — real-world clues on lampposts
in Warsaw, Paris, Seoul, Hawaii, and Sydney. They required cryptography,
steganography, medieval Welsh poetry, and Mayan numerology.

Some solvers claim to have reached the final stage.
None have revealed what they found.
The third puzzle remains unsolved to this day.
