On today's show, Jerome Powell said the Fed was served grand jury subpoenas threatening criminal charges related to his testimony on renovations at the central bank headquarters. He described the move as part of the administration’s pressure over interest rates. President Donald Trump denied any knowledge of the DOJ investigation.

Meanwhile, Trump says the US is looking at potential options in response to violent crackdowns in Iran. He also said Iran's leadership has reached out to seek talks and a meeting is being set up, but the US may have to act before the meeting.

European countries, led by the UK and Germany, are discussing plans for a military presence in Greenland to show that the continent is serious about Arctic security and tamp down US threats to take over the Danish territory.
