In Fusasar village, Jaisalmer, Farooq faced challenges from a young age due to a physical disability and the lack of digital infrastructure. With no local E-Mitra centre and limited awareness of government schemes, villagers had to travel long distances for basic services. Farooq’s life changed when he connected with the Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF), equipped with digital tools and training, he set up a local E-Mitra service centre, making government services like pensions, job cards, and mobile updates accessible at the doorstep.
