Homily | 31 December 2023 | A Cross In A Cradle (CHRISTMAS OCTAVE)

Welcome back!
Created in the image of a God who is a Community-in-Love (three in one), the meaning of our lives is to be found in relationships. Our identity as human beings is inseparable from that network of relationships we call ‘family’ – not just the family into which we are born, but the wider family of friends and relations, of county and country, of Church, of all humanity and, indeed, of all God’s creatures, great and small, with whom we are inextricably connected. And our final destiny is to belong to the family of the blessed in heaven. We might say that family is inscribed in our DNA. It is part of who and what we are!
As we continue on our journey through this Christmas season, this Sunday after Christmas gives us one last opportunity to clutch the Christ child as well to reaffirm the simple truth of Christmas. What is that simple truth?
Before we leave the Christmas story for yet another year, lets clutch these three-fold simple truths:-
GOD ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES....
GOD DOESN'T PROMISE US A ROSE GARDEN....
THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE NOT TO BE KEPT; BUT TO BE SHARED.....
