Harvesting Rain for aquifer recharge
Pick storm water and send it to a recharge well. This recharge well here is 2 feet in diameter and 12 feet deep. It picks up rainwater from about 1200 square metre of roof area and road area. As you see the water is led into the drain and diverted into the well. This then reaches the aquifer and prevents urban flooding. About 1 million litres of rainwater is recharged every year is an estimate.
