Deranged Man Gets Life in Prison after Hitting Police Officer with a Brick

On September 25th, 2021, officers were standing outside during a routine patrol, unaware that anything was about to go wrong.

One officer noticed a man walking along the sidewalk, casually setting up his phone—later discovered to be livestreaming the situation on Facebook. Without warning, the man suddenly rushed in and struck an officer in the side of the head, instantly turning a calm moment into a violent ambush.

As another officer rushed in to help, the fight intensified. The suspect bit, clawed, and even attempted to gouge an officer’s eye, turning the encounter into a desperate fight for control. Despite repeated efforts to restrain him, the suspect continued resisting—grabbing equipment, biting, and refusing to comply.

By the time officers were finally able to gain control, the injuries were significant, highlighting just how fast a routine patrol can spiral into a dangerous, life-threatening situation.

The suspect was then taken into the orange county jail where he was booked and charged with ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER with a weapon, RESISTING OFFICER WITH VIOLENCE, AGGRAVATED BATTERY ON A LAW ENFORCEMNT OFFICER WITH A DEADLY WEAPON OR CAUSING GREAT BODILY HARM, DEPRIVING OFFICER OF MEANS OF PROTECTION OR COMMUNICATION, BATTERY ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE ON a LAW ENFORCEMNT OFFICER AND aggravated BATTERY ON law enforcement officer WITH A DEADLY WEAPON. the man plead not guilty on 11/8/2021, the case stayed open for more than 3 years and he went to trial and a jury found him guilty on 4/2/2024.
