The Fall That Changed Everything : He Thought He Was Going to Die But His Identity Got Shattered

“Revelations” is the first artwork in my ongoing visual narrative The War Within: Breaking Out of Perdition — a journey through trauma, awakening, identity fracturing, and the long climb toward inner truth.
In this piece, a detained Black man is thrown from a plane and suspended mid‑air, falling through an endless sky.
He believes he is going to die.
But this fall is more than physical.
It is psychological.
It is symbolic.
It is the beginning of collapse… and the beginning of awakening.
This video breaks down the deeper meanings, visual metaphors, and hidden layers embedded in Revelations. Each element of the artwork speaks to a stage of internal unraveling — and an early confrontation with the truth buried beneath the self.

🔍 Symbolic Breakdown: Understanding “Revelations”
• BODY POSITION — Loss of Control
The unnatural, suspended posture captures the terror of being ripped away from stability. His body becomes a metaphor for vulnerability in the face of forces he cannot control.
• THE CLOUDS — Disorientation & Threshold
Shifting clouds distort direction and scale, creating a liminal space between consciousness and chaos — the boundary where identity begins to crack.
• EXPRESSION — Fragmentation of Self
His facial tension reflects the first emotional rupture: fear, disbelief, and the dawning awareness that his perceived self is beginning to fracture.
• THE PLANE — The System
The aircraft above symbolizes the oppressive systems and structures that shaped — and distorted — his inner world. It is the mechanism of his fall, both literal and psychological.
• THE FALL — Shock of Dislocation
The drop is the shockwave moment. The break. The instant everything once believed begins to collapse. This is where awakening first forces itself into being.
• ENDLESS SKY — Existential Isolation
The vastness surrounding him amplifies existential terror: being alone with one’s truth, one’s trauma, and one’s unraveling.
• REVELATIONS AS CATALYST
This fall marks the spark — the moment that initiates the protagonist’s journey through the depths of the self. Revelation is painful… but it is necessary.
