When there is a threat to your life, health, or property in the area where you are located, Emergency Alerts are messages that are sent to all compatible 4G and 5G mobile phones. They do not gather personal information, require your phone number, or track your location. They can only be sent by the government and the emergency services. You will still be informed through other channels, such as local news, radio, television, and social media, even if you do not have a mobile phone that is compatible with it.

An expansive cautions test will occur in the afternoon of 23 April which will see you get a test ready message on your cell phone. A loud, siren-like sound will be heard, and a message on your screen will inform you of the emergency and the best way to respond.
