A glorious day for the Indian contingent at Paralympics 2021 as shooter Avani Patel, javelin throwers Sumit Antil, Devendra Jhajariya and Sundar Singh Gurjar and Discus thrower Yogesh Kathunia won medals; India's Covid chart showed improvement today, with the country recording 42,909 cases, a drop of 4.7% from yesterday. About 380 deaths were recorded, according to the Health Ministry. The BJP is holding protests, demanding that temples be reopened and Dahi Handi events be allowed in Mumbai. Some BJP leaders have also said they will organise Dahi Handi competitions despite Covid restrictions.
