Did JAKE PARKER Plagiarize ALPHONSO DUNN's Book?

On August 26, 2020 Alphonso Dunn published a video to his youtube channel called "Jake Parker Plagiarized My Book". In the video Alphonso Dunn compares his Pen and Ink Drawing: A Simple Guide book to Jake Parker's Inktober All Year Long: Your Indispensable Guide to Drawing with Ink book.

In the video Alphonso compares multiple pages from both books and notes multiple suspicious similarities. Alphonso becomes notably frustrated and shows evidence of the immense amount of work he put into the book. Alphonso directly accuses Jake of stealing from him and asks what made him think he could get away with it.

I have chosen not to include any clips from Alphonso's video as I have seen examples where content creators flag or strike content to avoid criticism, so your familiarity with the video is important.

After the video was shared to Alphonso's popular youtube channel his fans became outraged and many began spamming Jake's instagram and twitter posts. The commenters also made sure to spam any post promoting Jake's book and the publisher. These comments had a noticeable effect.and many people were convinced that Jake definitely stole from Alphonso.

Jake since posted a statement claiming that he did not plagiarize Alphonso's book, that Alphonso did not contact him or the publisher, and that he would plan on releasing more details in the future,

In my video I want to offer some information that I feel has been ignored and maybe clear up some things that are being misunderstood or misrepresented. I also want to offer up some concern and caution for how the situation has been handled.

If there is one thing I want anyone to take from this video is the part where I talk about layouts. I have seen many people cite having the same layouts (with multiple intentions due to the user's interpretation of what a layout is), but the layouts between the two books is very different and there are many issues with how Alphonso is comparing the two books and presenting his analysis.

I do find much of the similarities suspicious and if Jake did plagiarize he should be punished, but because of how Alphonso has handled the situation; I feel if Alphonso is wrong, he may have to face some consequences instead.
