Laravel Microservice - Factory Classes + Database Seeding + Unit Tests
This week, we focused on database structure, attribute casting, and testing strategies to build a more robust Laravel microservice. We designed our Google Subscription DTO, set up migrations, lookup data, and seeders, and ensured test consistency by seeding the test database.
On the testing side, we explored factory classes, refactoring for testability, custom exceptions, and using test doubles with Mockery. We also covered handling expected exceptions to improve test reliability. Every lesson moves us closer to a fully testable and maintainable Laravel microservice! 🚀
