Authentic Cabbage Rolls Recipe ll Romanian Cabbage Rolls II Cabbage Rolls Recipe
This authentic Cabbage Rolls are made with sour cabbage stuffed with ground beef, ground pork, and rice. Today's video feat my mother-in-law we're going to make this AUTHENTIC Romanian cabbage rolls aka SARMALE, and she got this recipe from her mom. I'd definetly say that this is really an authentic grandma recipe. This recipe is going to be the best cabbage rolls you will ever have!
We're going to cook polenta as well to eat with Sarmale. This is a perfect meal to have to celebrate the holiday, and specially to serve during holiday season, Easter, Chrsitmas and like now NEW YEAR!! So let's celebrate this new year with our TRADITIONAL and Authentic Cabbage Rolls.

Ingredients:
- 1 medium sour cabbage
For the cabbage filling:
- 4 medium shallot/2 big onion
- 1.5 kg ground meat
- 2 large egg
- Black pepper
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- Water
- 1 cup rice, rinsed
- 1 tbsp thyme/ dill
For the cabbage rolls cooking sauce:
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- Sauer cabbage juice (reserved from drained sauer cabbage)
- Water
For the side:
- 2 cup polenta
- Salt
- 1 tbsp butter
* Bake in the oven or cook on the stove will take around 3 - 4 hr. Cook just until the cabbage rolls turn soft. Before serve, broil in the oven for 5-10 minutes
