The BEST Live-Action DC SUITS

Live-action DC content over the past decade has focused heavily on creating comic-accurate suits that faithfully represent the titular heroes—and in some cases, the villains—of each project. Despite its many shortcomings, the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) produced some of the best live-action comic book costumes ever put to screen. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice still holds up visually, particularly with its depiction of Batman, featuring one of the best live-action Batsuits to date. Other DCEU films like Blue Beetle, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Black Adam, and Shazam! continued the trend with well-designed superhero suits. While the Arrowverse on The CW had its shortcomings with some of the suits on shows like The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow—there are a handful of standout designs. Notably, the Kingdom Come Superman suit worn by Brandon Routh is one of the greatest Superman suits ever made. Similarly, Titans has built a solid reputation for its costume design, especially for characters like Nightwing, Red Hood, Aqualad, Deathstroke, and other Teen Titans-related heroes. With James Gunn now at the helm of DC Studios, one can only hope that the new DCU will match or even surpass the strong aesthetic foundation laid by the DCEU.
