He was leaving, she was silent,
Watching him go, her heart grew empty,
Tears welled up, but she held them back,
Didn't want him to see her in lack.

He was her world, her everything,
But he had to go, spread his wings,
She knew it was for the best.

He turned around, gave her a smile,
Walked towards her, his pace agile,
Took her in his arms, held her tight,
Whispered softly, "It'll be alright."

She buried her face in his chest,
Hoping this moment would never rest,
But it had to end, he had to go,
She let him leave, feeling empty.

As he walked away, she stood still,
Watching him disappear over the hill,
He was gone, but his love remained,
Her heart felt heavy, yet sustained.

She was silent, but not alone,
For his love had become her home,
He may be leaving, but their love would stay,
And with that thought, she stay ... to wait forever.
